Maximize your digital investment with pathologist-centered innovation
Here at Proscia, we believe the key to achieving productivity and confidence in digital pathology lies in delivering an intelligent and intuitive platform where pathologists can work naturally from day one. That’s why this release builds on last quarter’s updates to improve the day-to-day experience of pathology teams in modern anatomic pathology labs.
These enhancements—streamlined consults, personalized navigation controls, precision measurement tools—were developed through hours spent alongside professionals who review thousands of cases on our platform weekly. Their insights have shaped each feature, ensuring that even seemingly minor improvements are designed to deliver substantial impact on workflow efficiency and professional satisfaction.
To the pathologists who partner with us in making Concentriq AP continuously better: thank you. Your expertise drives our innovation.
Here are the highlights of what’s new:
Personalized Worklists for Efficient Case Management
Save complex filter combinations as personalized, dynamic worklists that automatically populate with new cases matching your criteria—eliminating manual worklist organization and maintenance. Use any combination of parameters to create your worklist, including: assignee, lab site, specimen type, case attributes, accession data, customized tags, and more.
Real-world applications:
- Case Management — Start your day with reviews that consistently require special attention or urgency. For example, organize cases that may need additional subspecialty analysis in your workflow.
- Efficient Tumor Board Preparation — Create dedicated worklists for upcoming tumor boards that automatically gather all relevant cases in one accessible view. Finally eliminate both physical slide trays and separate spreadsheet tracking from your preparation process. 👋
- Specialized Teaching Collections — Build and maintain digital case libraries showcasing rare cases or educational sets organized by difficulty level—perfect for resident training and continuing professional development.
Streamlined Consultation Workflows
Modern anatomic pathology is increasingly multi-disciplinary and collaborative. From complex case assessments to tumor board participation and resident education, seamless case sharing is essential. While Concentriq AP has always supported digital consultations (both synchronous and asynchronous), we’ve updated the collaborative review process with these powerful additions:
- Secondary Reviewer Assignment: Seamlessly designate multiple colleagues as secondary reviewers while maintaining your status as the primary case owner.
- Dedicated Consult Worklists: Save a filtered worklist of consults assigned to you for efficient review of cases requiring your expertise.
Real-world applications:
- Subspecialty Expertise Review — Obtain expert opinions on challenging cases or novel stains without disrupting case ownership or workflow continuity.
- Educational Framework — Lead pathologists can maintain primary reviewer status while residents or fellows review cases, creating a clear hierarchy for training scenarios.
Pathologist-Centered Navigation & Measurement Improvements
Our latest navigation enhancements create a natural experience that feels immediately familiar to pathologists while unlocking the full potential of digital review. By thoughtfully combining ergonomic design with powerful digital measurement and customization options, Concentriq AP enables pathologists to work efficiently.
Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts
Digital pathology workstations should adapt to pathologists—not the other way around. While Concentriq AP has long offered comprehensive keyboard shortcuts for essential functions like zooming, panning, and toggling AI visualization layers, users can now customize the shortcuts to their personal review habits, workstation setups, and accessibility needs.
- Physical Ergonomics — Left-handed pathologists can now cluster frequently-used commands on the right side of the keyboard, and vice versa.
- Self-Service Workflow Optimization — Pathologists can continuously refine their keyboard shortcuts without IT intervention, creating a personalized experience that evolves with their changing workflow patterns.
Ergonomic Panning Mode
New ergonomic panning mode allows pathologists to navigate slides simply by moving their mouse or trackpad without click-and-drag actions. Activated by pressing a single hotkey, this is a critical feature for pathologists who review a high volume of slides every day, including complex cases that require extensive high-magnification examination.
- Ergonomic Design — Navigation that eliminates click-and-drag motions.
- Customizable Controls — Each pathologist can configure their preferred hotkey, panning sensitivity, and the size of the slide navigator, creating a personalized experience that feels intuitive from day one.
Freeform Ruler Annotations
Measuring curved structures like core needle biopsies or irregular lesions has traditionally required creating multiple line segments and calculating total lengths, adding unnecessary steps to your workflow.
With Concentriq AP’s new intuitive freeform ruler annotations, pathologists can trace naturally along curved structures with continuous mouse movement to instantly obtain precise measurements, eliminating the need to manually calculate multiple segmented measurements.
Expanded Interoperability: Protecting Investments & Driving Efficiency
Interoperability remains fundamental to laboratory digital transformation. As an open platform designed for diverse laboratory environments, Concentiq AP already supports a wide range of digital pathology technologies. With this latest release, we’ve expanded our image format compatibility and deepened our LIS integration functionality to maximize the value of your existing and future technology investments.
Broadened Image Format Compatibility
Concentriq AP now supports DICOM images from Leica GT-450 and 3DHistech scanners, as well as SVS images from Grundium scanners. Our growing DICOM support demonstrates our commitment to industry standardization, protecting your digital assets regardless of hardware evolution or changes.
LIS Integration Improvements
Quickly jump from Concentriq AP to the same case within the integrated LIS with a single keyboard shortcut, eliminating navigation steps and streamlining case review workflows. Plus, a new configuration option allows sort settings for parts, blocks, and slides in Concentriq to be defined on your LIS, maintaining consistency across systems.
This expanded compatibility reinforces our vision of an open digital pathology ecosystem where laboratories can confidently select best-of-breed hardware, software, and AI technology with reduced concern for integration limitations or vendor lock-in.
