Proscia and Huron Digital Pathology Host Pre-Conference Workshop on Best-in-Class Strategies for Digital Pathology Adoption

Pre-conference workshop to take place at upcoming Pathology Visions conference

BALTIMORE, MD (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 20, 2017

Proscia Inc., a data solutions provider for digital pathology, and Huron Digital Pathology, a provider of whole slide imaging solutions, are hosting a pre-conference workshop at the Digital Pathology Association’s 2017 Pathology Visions conference. The workshop, entitled “Successfully Deploying a Best-in-Class Strategy for Digital Pathology,” will feature Proscia CEO, David West Jr., and Huron CEO, Patrick Myles, speaking on how vendors will help to shape a lab’s transformation and what it means to truly go digital. The pre-conference workshop will take place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California on October 1, 2017.

“Pathologists and other decision makers are no longer trying to decide if they should go digital; instead, the question is how and when to do so,” says West. “The goal of this workshop is to highlight the advantages of taking a best-in-class approach to digital pathology adoption and what this means for users and vendors alike in changing the way digital pathology workflows come together. We will touch upon the differences between customer-centric workflows and technology-centric workflows, and what to consider during technology selections.”

This past spring, Proscia and Huron announced they have worked together to provide a seamlessly integrated digital pathology scanner-software solution. Through this integration, slides can be quickly and easily scanned with Huron’s hardware and then automatically uploaded to the Proscia cloud-based platform for storage, collaboration and image analysis.

Myles adds, “As digital workflows are envisioned and deployed, stakeholders face the difficult choice of either a single-vendor or best-in-class strategy. In this workshop, we will look at the pros and cons of both options and offer our thoughts on how to successfully leverage the choice and flexibility offered by a best-in-class approach.”

Pathology Visions, the Digital Pathology Association’s annual conference, delivers education and best practices, while influencing industry standards and contributing to the advancement of patient care.
