Digital pathology software and hardware combine to manage the process from high-throughput scanning all the way to image analysis
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND (PRWEB) MARCH 02, 2017
Proscia Inc, a data solutions provider for digital pathology, and Huron Digital Pathology, a provider of whole slide imaging solutions, today announced the two companies now provide seamless integration between Huron scanners and the Proscia digital pathology platform. Through this integration, pathologists are able to seamlessly go from digitization on Huron’s best-in-class scanner to Proscia’s new case-management platform.
Proscia and Huron will together demonstrate a high speed, integrated scanning and software environment at the upcoming USCAP conference, held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, between March 6 and 8, 2017.
“As a scanner-agnostic solution, our open SaaS-based digital pathology platform is able to handle any image format,” said David West, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Proscia. “At the same time, customers want tightly integrated solutions and often look for interoperability for their digital pathology needs. The speed and openness of Huron’s new TissueScope™ LE scanner platform made it the perfect complement to our software in creating an integrated platform for high-speed scanning and uploading.”
“We saw an opportunity for Huron to partner with Proscia to provide best-in-class scanner and software solutions that are well integrated and move the digital pathology industry forward in speed, power and ease of use,” said Patrick Myles, Chief Executive Officer of Huron. “Proscia’s Pathology Cloud platform provides instantaneous access to scanned slides, allowing them to be sent or retrieved from anywhere in the world, and its built-in image analysis tools enable pathologists to easily extract meaningful information from the images.”
By uploading scanned slides directly from Huron’s scanners into Proscia’s platform, pathologists have instant access to thousands of images and get immediate feedback from Proscia’s digital image analysis, including new learnings and information that cannot be detected or measured by the naked eye. Patterns emerge, helping pathologists make faster, more informed and accurate diagnoses and treatments.
Proscia will also be showing new case management features at USCAP that will tie closely to the workflow of pathology departments. Pathologists will now be able to organize and work through a case rather than image paradigm, grouping relevant images and data under one case for a single patient. For example, if one patient has had multiple scans, Proscia software will make it easy for pathologists to compare progress and changes between one sample and another.
At USCAP, visit Proscia at booth 539 and Huron Digital Pathology at booth 610 to see a demonstration of the integrated scanner-software solution.
